LOA Library sends initial load of data to vendor, Bywater Solutions

The LOA Librarian has been very busy since I broke the exciting news!

She completed cleaning up and integrating the Sylvanus Griswold Morley database, a DB/Textworks database comprised of 1130 records into the LOA Library’s main Labbook database on Sunday, February 16, 2014.

Today, she sent the initial data load of the LOA Library’s main database called Labbook which is comprised of 39,481 records. She also sent Bywater Solutions instructions on how to map the InMagic DB/Textworks fields to MARC21, the data standards used by Libraries world wide.

Since she last posted on this weblog at the end of January, she has been working at a feverish pace. A total of 974 records were cleaned up in just two and a half weeks! To date, she has revised 18707 records out of a total 39,481 records!

I will keep you posted as things transpire…
